Dr Pepper, Dr Pepper. Boy oh, boy, we have Dr Pepper!!!

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

Many our of customers have been in and out of our shop the last several weeks unhappy, because for the first time in The Soda Gallery’s history, we were out of stock on the world-famous Dublin Dr Pepper. Well, we now have tons and tons of cases to be snatched up by our loyal customers! And it’s a good thing too, because we’re about to launch our online web store and we’ll need all the Dr Pepper we can get our hands on. All these cases look so lovely in our shop, now. We were starting to get really lonely not having our usual load of Dr Pepper around here. Now, I know there are some folks out there who are still clamoring for Cheerwine. I’ll keep you posted on that. I have a feeling Santa will be bringing us some goodies prior to December 25th, rest assured!

Aside from all this Dr Pepper goodness, we had a great time at the “Caffeinated” opening on Oct. 20th. With nearly 20 artists in our first-ever group exhibition, there were many art fans and collectors that came through. I promise I’ll get some pictures from the opening on our website, MySpace page, and/or on our blog soon, so you guys can see what you missed!

Well, that about does it for today’s installment. We are expecting a large turnout this evening for the tequila tasting we are hosting, so I need to get back to the preparations. If you like tequila, especially really good (and did I mention FREE?) tequila, this is the place to be tonight, 9-10pm.

Hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather lately. I know we certainly are.

Come get “Caffeinated!”

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

Tonight finally marks the opening of “Caffeinated,” The Soda Gallery’s first-ever group art show, featuring nearly twenty fantastic artists from all over the country. All of us at the gallery, including the artists, poured a lot of blood, sweat and tears to make this show come together, so come out and see what new things we have adorning our walls!

Featuring the artwork of:

Jonathon Kimbrell, Brady Nichols, Travis Nichols, Havi Frost, Richard Ross, Andrea Heimer, Nic Noblique, Brandy Kayzakian-Rowe, Greg Gossel, Aaron Brick, Wendi Medling, Christoff Gutheil, Debra Gloria, Justin Hunt, Brad Abrams, Larry Pile, Elizabeth Bera, Misty Boldish and Tomas Aleman.

This show will run until December 31st, but will be rotated out with new work by the same artists, from time to time. Pieces are already flying off the walls, so if you are in the market for new and exciting art, come and get it before the piece you really want disappears!

Our address is: 408 N. Bishop Ave. Suite 101/ Dallas, TX (In the heart of the Bishop Arts District of Oak Cliff.)

See you soon!

“50/50″ call for artists now CLOSED…

Friday, October 12th, 2007

the artist slots for “50/50″ (set to open march 15, 2008) is now full. thanks to everyone who  submitted. a full list of participants will be posted soon.

for those who missed out, fret not. the 2008 art season has been planned, and there will be plenty of opportunites to submit. in fact, if my theory is correct, “50/50″ will be such a success, we may have to do “50/50 II” later on in the year. i’m thinking it’s a distinct possibility…
